Perched on the Cimini Mountains, Canepina is a charming village known for its farming traditions and rich history.

The town center retains the authentic atmosphere of the medieval past, with its narrow streets, paving made entirely of basalt rocks, and stone houses.

The Anguillara Castle with its imposing structure and strategic location is one of the city's highlights. Dating back to the Middle Ages, it was the residence of the powerful Anguillara family.

Also among the main points of interest is the Museum of Folk Arts and Traditions, which offers a glimpse of the area's rural and craft life, with a collection of agricultural tools, costumes and traditional objects.

Also worth a visit is the Shrine of Our Lady of Grace, located just outside the city, a beautiful and peaceful place known for its picturesque setting.

Ancient fountains fed by pure local spring water adorn the downtown streets, and remind us of the historical importance of water for agriculture and daily life.

Canepina is also renowned for its traditional cuisine, including Fieno di Canepina, a type of very thin handmade pasta, and Ceciliani, large cylindrically shaped macaroni, often served with robust sauces such as wild boar or meat sauce. These specialties take center stage during local festivals, which attract numerous visitors each year to taste the authentic flavors of Tuscia.

Chestnuts, another local excellence, are celebrated each fall with Chestnut Days, which enliven the town with events, markets and tastings of dishes made with this precious fruit.

Thanks to its location surrounded by nature, Canepina also offers beautiful trails in the surrounding woods, ideal for hiking enthusiasts, both on foot and by mountain bike.
