Osteria del Vecchio Orologio, in the heart of Viterbo, is a pillar of local dining. Established in 1966, today it is carried on with great passion by Paolo Bianchini, an attentive innkeeper and profound connoisseur of the area, who has managed to renovate it while remaining faithful to the spirit of traditional Viterbo taverns.
The restaurant is all made of peperino - the symbolic stone of Tuscia - with three large arches forming as many rooms where the atmosphere is warm and convivial. The dishes are rooted in local tradition and reinterpreted with contemporary sensibility, with a rigorous selection of raw materials from the fruit and vegetable market and the Viterbo slaughterhouse, and great attention to seasonality. Bread, pasta and desserts are homemade and complete a gastronomic experience that has earned the Osteria a place in the Gambero Rosso 2025 guide.
The winery is entirely dedicated to the wines of Tuscia and Lazio, thanks to Paolo's choice to value exclusively local producers. A commitment also recognized by the title of Lazio Terroir Ambassador 2025.
During the summer evenings, you can enjoy an aperitif or dinner outdoors in the charming dehors in the small square overlooking Mazzatosta Palace.
Authentic atmosphere, real flavors and honest prices: an unmissable stop for those who want to taste the Tuscia area.
